WHY ARE ONLY SOME OF THE CHANNELS FREE?
Some TV networks have offered their channels to all viewers regardless of subscription tier during the recent social distancing restrictions. DirectLink has reprogrammed our TV platforms to allow the pass-through of these channels while they are available. We do the same pass-through for our members when premium channels like HBO offer free preview weekends throughout the year.
WHY CAN'T YOU PROVIDE ADDITIONAL CHANNELS?
DirectLink resources have been focused on maintaining core services to our members during these unprecedented times. While we are able to pass through free previews of programming offered by networks, we are not able to assume the additional cost of this content on our own when it is not provided for free by the networks. It's important that we balance where we feel our contributions will be most effective. We will continue to evaluate the offerings of various networks as we move forward.
ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING TO HELP DURING THE CORONAVIRUS SITUATION?
DirectLink has committed to focus our efforts to provide Internet connectivity for community students previously without Internet to continue their education. For additional information about how DirectLink is staying committed to the wellbeing of our members during the COVID-19 coronavirus situation, please stay tuned to our news feed page at www.DirectLink.coop/news.
WHERE CAN I LEARN MORE?
You can read more details about the currently available channels on lower tiers here: https://www.directlink.coop/news?id=20141-1584982429.
WHAT OTHER OFFERS CAN YOU GIVE ME FOR FREE CONTENT?
Many of our channels offer a wide range of additional free content through the watchTVeverywhere platform. Provided video is at the discretion of the network, but can include full seasons and series, behind the scenes clips and full-length movies. Visit www.wtve.net to learn more and to get started with your free account with a TV subscription.
