Dear Valued Member,
DirectLink strives to provide quality services at affordable rates for our members. Part of the company's commitment to the membership includes regularly re-evaluating products to ensure they fit subscribers’ needs. After extensive consideration, the DirectLink leadership, engineering, and operations teams have decided to implement a new email hosting solution.
The company is pleased to announce that all email users will migrate to a new server on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. DirectLink has chosen to partner with a community-focused national organization that provides technology solutions for similar rural telecom cooperatives. This collaboration will ensure a smooth transition to a new email server that will provide a more stable, secure, and reliable connection for all subscribers.
Changes with the new server include:
- You do not need to make any changes to your settings in order to continue receiving email or access your account.
- The total inbox storage capacity will increase to 15GB.
- The maximum email size will be reduced to 25MB.
- The maximum attachment size will decrease to 17MB
- The new system will include a variety of custom color themes for personalization.
What to expect during the migration:
- All emails will be accounted for during the transition to the new server.
- As before, a complete email address (user@emailaddress.com) must be typed in along with your password to log in.
- Contacts as they exist in Webmail currently will migrate to the new server automatically.
- Some duplicate emails may be present as the transition is made.
- If you receive a 503 Service Unavailable error message, you will need to clear your browser cache. If this does not resolve the issue, please call our Technical Support Team at 503.266.8111 in Canby or 503.845.2291 in Mt. Angel
- If you have bookmarked the web address zimbra.peak.org to access email, you will need to delete that address as it will no longer receive your email.
- If you are an international traveler and use a POP or IMAP client to access email (meaning you use an app or service instead of an Internet browser for email), adjustments need to be made to your account. Please call Technical Support at one of the numbers listed above for assistance.
The company appreciates your patience and understanding during this situation and for your continued support in the neighborhood cooperative.
